Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the George, located centrally in the quaint market town of Frome, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary experience. The hotel's dining ambiance matched the historic charm of the building, creating an inviting setting for a gourmet escape. I enjoyed the breakfast, which featured a delightful range of freshly baked goods. The croissants garnered my particular attention, highlighting the hotel's commitment to quality ingredients. I did find the breakfast spread somewhat limited; a more comprehensive selection, including additional condiments for toast, would enhance the morning experience. Dinner at the bar offered an intriguing selection of dishes, including a braised lamb shoulder hotpot that was both hearty and well-prepared. The house-brewed ales paired nicely with my meal—a bold English ale that hinted at fruity notes complemented by a gentle malt sweetness. The friendly staff contributed positively to my overall experience, making my stay both relaxing and enjoyable. I left inspired to explore more of Frome's culinary offerings and its surroundings.
